Learning is a journey and I'm excited to share in this adventure with students. It is my hope that students will grow in confidence and explore in their learning environment daily. There will be many opportunities for students to showcase their best efforts and to be peer helpers to others.
Being a teacher for 10 years has allowed me to experience and appreciate different places, people, and cultures. My goal is for Woodmoor Library to embody that same spirit, all are welcome.
Three things to know about me:
1. I love to read! Its like a movie is playing in my head when I read a good book.
2. Smiling can help brighten up someone's day so I smile a lot.
3. I have three rules for students to follow, BE Safe, BE Responsible, BE Respectful.

Ginny Allemann (Ms. Ginny)

I’m new to Woodmoor Elementary in 2019 and I’m thrilled to be part of this kind and diverse community of learners!

As a teacher-librarian for the last 19 years in Seattle, I have learned a lot about children’s literature, resources for learning, and the use of technology for learning. I’m excited to share what I know. I’m also excited to learn from a new community of teachers, teacher-librarians, administrators, and paraprofessionals.

The best part of my job is finding the right book for every child and the right child for every good book. I also enjoy using technology to further our understanding of our world and each other.

Prior to getting my Master of Library and Information Science, (and recently, my National Board Certification in Library Media), I was a high school French teacher. I also speak a bit of Spanish and am interested in learning about culture and language.

When I’m not reading or listening to audiobooks, I like to spend time with my family, ski, and be outdoors in the mountains!
