Physical Education(PE)
Welcome to PE at Woodmoor!
At Woodmoor students participate in Physical Education twice per week for 45 minutes, with instruction tailored to their age and developmental level. Our program focuses on developing both skill-related fitness (agility, balance, coordination, power, reaction time, and speed) and health-related fitness (cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition). Students also build proficiency in object control skills, locomotor and non-locomotor movements, and foundational nutrition concepts.
We use standards-based assessment practices aligned with national and state guidelines to monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback on skill development, fitness, and personal growth. In addition to physical skills, we emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, inclusion, respect, and a growth mindset to support the development of the whole child.
