News from the Principal

With a snap of the fingers, our school year has come to a close. We had a wonderful year or learning, engagement, and fun. Thank you to everyone who was a part of it.

Please keep in mind that the main office closes in July. We open back up in August until 3:00 PM. More announcements will come regarding the start of the 2026-2027 school year in mid-August.

I wish you all a wonderful summer filled with family, friends and adventure.

Sincerely,

Nancy Johnson, Principal

Welcome Rachelle Gardner!

Mrs. Gardner will be joining me as the new .5 Assistant Principal. Here is a message from our new AP!

For the past three years, I’ve been the Assistant Principal at Lockwood Elementary. Prior to Northshore, I was an Assistant Principal at Olympic Hills Elementary for four years. I started my career in Seattle as a first-grade teacher then worked as a reading interventionist and Levy coordinator with Olympic Hills and the City of Seattle. I have always wanted to be an educator and find great joy working with students, teachers, and families to ensure positive learning experiences for children.

I grew up in Spokane and moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington where I received my degrees and Principal certification. I love living in the Pacific Northwest and often travel between Seattle and Spokane to be with my extended family.

My greatest joy in life is being a mom. I have a six-year-old son who attends Lockwood and a one-year-old son as well. My husband and I stay busy with all their activities and endless energy. When I'm not at school, I'm usually bouncing between swimming, soccer, baseball, or music class.

I look forward to getting to know you and your children, as well as partnering to continue the great work the Woodmoor community has been doing.

Rachelle Gardner

Thank You PTA!

We'd like to extend a huge thank you to our fabulous Woodmoor PTA who has done so much for our students, staff and school community. Check out this letter from our PTSA President for a deeper look at the many ways PTSA made an impact at Woodmoor this year. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, participated, and supported our school community—we couldn't do it without you!
