Tips for planning ahead for your family:
💡 Start meal planning now and take inventory of the foods you currently have in your pantry to make the most of these ingredients.
💡With your remaining October SNAP food benefits, prioritize non-perishable foods, bulk foods, and low-cost items (pasta, rice, beans, cereals & oats, canned veges/fruits or soups, lentils, nut butters, etc).
💡Note that any unused benefits will roll over and only expire after 274 days of EBT card inactivity - so you should be able to continue to use the SNAP benefits that you already have.
💡Some local food banks require that you make an appointment and/or are only open during certain hours. They may also request that you bring proof of address, income and family size with you. Please be sure to inform yourself or contact the organization before showing up.
