Parking & Transportation
PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY!
At Woodmoor, student safety is our utmost priority. One of the busiest times of the day on our campus is the arrival and dismissal of almost 1000 students and staff! The staff members at Woodmoor constantly monitor student safety and traffic flow during these times.
We need YOU to help us keep students safe and traffic flowing smoothly. We want to stress the need for everyone to pay attention to our student safety patrol and our staff crossing guards, as they will be directing student and vehicle traffic.
Please take a moment to read and refresh your memory of our policies below.
Thank you for working in partnership with us in order to keep our students and staff members safe, as well as the traffic in the parking lot flowing smoothly! We hope you will continue to treat our staff and student safety patrols with respect and kindness as they work to keep the Woodmoor parking lot safe.
Remember, all it takes is for one person to not follow the drop-off/pick up procedure to snarl the traffic flow.
If you would like to park your car, please park in designated parking spots and the overflow lot (west side of Woodmoor).
There is no parking in the bus loading zones, we have students arriving and leaving by bus throughout the day.
We ask that you follow the directions of our student crossing guards, as it is their duty to help keep the cross walks safe.
If you would like to drop off/pick up your child, we have designated a lane in the upper parking lot (east side of Woodmoor) as an unloading/loading zone.
This lane is intended to keep the traffic flow moving. This lane is for loading and unloading of children only; do not park, nor leave your vehicle.
Once you are in the unloading/loading lane:
- Pull as far forward as possible.
- Stop the vehicle for students to exit/enter safely.
- In the morning, we ask that students walk down the southern stairs and into the building.
Woodmoor’s front circle is only designated for drop off and pick up of our students with special needs and students who have medical needs preventing them from walking safely down stairs or from a distant parking place.
Our handicap-designated parking spots are limited and we have many Woodmoor families that need the close proximity in order to drop off or pick up their child who has special needs.
Families who are allowed to use the front circle have a special sign signaling the parking lot attendant to let them proceed to the front circle.
If you are one of those families, please make sure you have that sign visible while on campus.
Students who are walking out the main driveway towards 160th should meet their parents/siblings at the Little Playground (by the swings).
Students are not to wait in the unsupervised circle area.
Walkers who are meeting younger siblings from the A/B pod should meet at the Little Playground swing area.
Walkers not meeting parents should immediately proceed along their designated routes.
Crossing Guards are at the 124th/160th street intersection for crossing.
